An exciting day ahead in Planica

Saturday will be an action-packed day as four more World Titles will be awarded on the 43rd FIS Nordic Ski World Championships Planica 2023.

A new World Champion will be crowned in the men's Nordic Combined HS102/10km. The jumps will start at 10.00 and the run at 15.30. The women's Ski Jumping team event at 12:00 will be a highlight of the day, as we will watch the Austrians fight to defend their gold medal from Oberstdorf 2021. The women will have their skiathlon event, which is an event that has been dominated by Norweigan's since 2011. Last but not least at 17.00 is the Men's Ski Jumping event on the normall hill, which will display some of Slovenian's finest talent.

Lanišek thrilled home crowd

The ski jumping qualification on the normal hill of the FIS Nordic Ski World Championships Planica 2023 couldn't have ended in a better way for the Slovenian national team. Anže Lanišek secured first place with a great jump and Timi Zajc placed third, with only the Austrian Stefan Kraft in between them. The excellent performances of the Slovenian Eagles is the best invitation for the fans to come and support them at home.

Norwegians add to their gold medal tally

The Norweigans unsurprisingly dominated the men's 30-kilometre cross country skiathlon race today, occupying every spot on the podium. Simen Hegstad Kruger was crowned world champion, beating out favourite Johannes Hoesflot Klaeb with an excellent finish. Gyda Westvold Hansen won the Nordic Combined World Championship title in Planica after she was the best after the jump on normal hill and after a five kilometre Cross-Country run, making her double World Champion of the discipline, following her victory in Oberstdorf in 2021.

Athletes shine on Medal Plaza

On Friday evening on Medal Plaza in Kranjska gora the spotlight was on five new FIS Nordic Ski Champions. Sweden's Jonna Sundling and Norway's Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo received gold medals for their win in the Cross-Country sprint in classic technique.
